What impressed director to cast Mouni in ‘Gold’?

Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gold’ trailer has been released today and Mouni’s performance in just 2 minutes 8 seconds video was sufficient to understand the reason behind choosing her in the film. Her performance in the trailer is good enough to convince the audience of her role and reason why she is being cast opposite such a big star, Akshay Kumar.

Considering to which, the director of the film Reema Kagti while interacting with media said, ” “My casting director put several actresses on tape and when I saw Mouni’s first test, I was convinced. She had done such a good job that I was convinced she is the one we were looking for.”

Mouni is not a strange face for anyone who is very well appraised of her show Naagin, which earned the top most position of the year among other television serials.  The Ekta Kapoor’s show(Naagin) was quite famous and got enough of viewers to praise it and take it to the number one place. After doing Naagin season 1 and 2 now, Mouni is moving ahead with big steps into major platform like Bollywood. Where she able to impress the director and got the opportunity to explore herself on such a big platform.

Mouni will be seen in the film Gold opposite Akshay Kumar as his wife. Speaking about Mouni’s role, Reema said, “She is playing Tapan Das’s wife, she has got a really fun part in the film.”

Besides, she will be seen in other films like Bhramastra, where she will be collaborating with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan. The film Brahmastra is slated to release in August next year. Whereas, our darling Naagin will also appear in the film RAW opposite John Abraham where she will be seen in the lead role. The film is going to mark theaters soon in next year.
