Akshay Kumar was present at the launch of PVR Icon in Mumbai with Mr. Kamal Gianchandani CEO, PVR Pictures on Thursday. During media interaction, the actor said he would like to only make cinemas and not acquire them.
Many celebrities have acquired theaters, Ajay Devgan is one such example. When asked if Akshay would be interested in acquiring such property, he said, “No. I would like to only make cinemas and I won’t be able to do that because there will be too much work for me.”
The Padman hero was asked about his expectations for the film and the research he went through for the biopic, he said, “I didn’t do the research my wife did it. The concept is hers’ and it was written by R. Balki. It is a very honest subject which we have to bring in front of the Indian audience. It is a must subject which is why I went for it.”
Talking about PVR Icon the impressed actor said, “This is built right you can have your meals orders in, I don’t think such cinemas (theaters) are built in abroad also. I go to cinemas abroad but I haven’t seen such theaters there.”

Padman directed by R. Balki is a biopic on Arunachalam Muruganantha, who created a revolution in the field of affordable menstrual hygiene.
