Shashi Kapoor- The bollywood legend took his last breath at 79!

Alas! We have lost a bollywood legend. Shashi Kapoor took his last breath today in Mumbai. This is so disheartening to hear that the shining stars are going and leaving the industry. Shashi Kapoor- what could be said about this man? The man who is known for so many great things. Right from so many epic movies like Deewar, Satyam Shivam Sundaram and Kabhie Kabhie and many more to his unforgetable dialouge “Mere pass maa hai”, this man has paved way in hearts of many.
Not just in Bollywood but this man has even worked with great Hollywood stars as well. He was the first India’s actor to work with Hollywood. His account of work is extreme notable. Kapoor was born in Calcutta in 1938 as the youngest son of Prithviraj Kapoor and the younger brother of Raj Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor. He acted in over 175 films, was honoured the Padma Bhushan in 2011 and the Dadasaheb Phalke award in 2015. Shashi Kapoor was married to late English actress Jennifer Kendal and is survived by his sons Karan and Kunal and daughter Sanjana Kapoor.
Shashi kapoor career begun as Asst.director for movie Post Box 999 which was the debut film of Sunil Dutt, and worked as an assistant director to Ravindra Dave in Guest House (1959), which was followed by movies such as Dulha Dulhan and Shriman Satyawadi, where Raj Kapoor was the lead hero.
His first Debut was in year 1961 with film Dharmaputra. He later started working with English movies like The Householder and Shakespeare-Wallah.
Many great actress like Raakhee, Sharmila Tagore and Zeenat Aman, Hema Malini, Parveen Babi, Rekhaji and many more has worked with Shashi Kapoor creating great movies which bollywood with bag in the list of legendary films. Some more of his great films includes Haseena maan jayegi, Kali ghata, kalyug, Trishul, Chakkar pe chakkar, Chor machaye shor, Chori mera kaam, Roti kapda aur makan and many more.
He was ill for sometimes and was been hospitalized. Sadly, he took his last breath at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, leaving lots of memories to be cherished. Randhir Kapoor (his nephew), informed PTI saying, “Yes he has passed away. He had kidney problem since several years. He was on dialysis for several years.”
His death has sicken hearts and numbed eyes of many. Fans have tweeted expressed affliction and paid tributes. Even Prime minister Narendra Modi tweeted saying, Shashi Kapoor’s versatility could be seen in his movies as well as in theatre, which he promoted with great passion. His brilliant acting will be remembered for generations to come. Saddened by his demise. Condolences to his family and admirers.
